Default hybrid vs 350

I'm in canada, the regular RX is 46000$ and the 450h will start at about 53000$ (in july) and seems to come standard with heads-up. Anyone knows if the base rx450h comes better equiped than a rx350. What I want to know is if the extra 7000$ gives you more than just the hybrid system.

nobody knows yet since the official price and options of the RX450h have not been released. taking a look at the old RX400h, you will notice that the packages are the same as the old RX350. so i doubt there will be anything that is more standard. however, they usually keep a few goodies for canadian buyers. my perspective is strictly on american RXs

With the extra thousands cost of a Hybrid,I can't see the so called 25-30% fuel savings actually saving money.
It would take many, many years to get on the plus side of the extra cash spent on a Hybrid.Even if you somehow get to that point,a new set of expensive batteries will be needed.

reasons to buy a hybrid:
1) to get into that niche of a market/to be different
2) to reduce CO2 Emissions
3) to tell the world that you are trying to reduce your impact
4) for the extra silence you get from a hybrid
5) the cool factor
6) the 295 hp and the some odd torque at 0 rpm

notice i didnt say save on fuel

All that torque that comes with the electric motor is nice, but the RX just dont have the suspension to handle that power. The GS450H on the other handle, has a better suspension to match that power.

I'm not sure this is official. But this review says the RX450h will be priced at $38,200. I hope that is correct.

Second thought, I noticed $38,200 is also the MSRP for the 4WD version so I bet they got confused and assumed that was the price for the 450h.
