This is the first time I've heard of the "VX"

Is this a new SUV that will slot between the RX and GX? Or will it sit below the current RX to compete with compact SUV like the BMW X3 and Acura RDX?

I'm very curious now

Very interesting, and like typical Lexus we have heard nary a squeak about it...although there are rumors of a new vehicle towards the end of the year, but most have expected the second generation GX. If a 7-passenger crossover is built it might impinge on GX sales, but depending on how they do it, might be a worthy expansion off of the RX lineup. Plus, consider ES & GS, Lexus hasn't been so determined to prevent product overlap.

However, searching through the US trademarks database, there is no public filing of the VX/VX350/VX450h name yet, but I assume you have other sources. There is a trademark for a JX470 but that was years back.

Hmmm... well, my source is usually accurate, but I guess we will find out shortly.

It sounds plausible that Lexus would add another SUV, after all rival makes are doing the same and a fourth SUV would match up with the four sedans + two coupes. There were rumors before the 3RX debut of a LWB version but that didn't happen.

...btw I am hoping that indeed the LF-A comes out with a cool name like GT-F as on your site.

Is the VX the Lexus version of the Toyota Venza? This will be very interesting...

I'm hoping they keep the Venza separate; IIRC the Venza is a US-designed and targeted vehicle; it sits much lower than the RX, etc.

That sounds apt. The rumored Sequoia-based large SUV a few years back was thought to be called either JX or VX...anyhow maybe the VX is some degree an incarnation of either LF-X or LF-Xh?

LOL! No wonder it was not trademarked...and looks like the GX will continue to occupy the middle market position in the Lexus SUV lineup.

...a bit early for an April Fool's Joke though!

The joke wasn't my idea... I wasted over an hour updated the website and forums with information about four different Toyota and Lexus models. My source has an interesting sense of humor.
