No matter what, the economy and tightened credit will effect 2010 RX sales more than anything else.

and you point is
They had alot of RX units STILL to sell. The new 2010 will not move as fast as they would like.
The economy has not finished falling to the bottom yet. Much more wealth need to be redistributed. That will nto help sales either!

We shall see how the numbers look in the next few months, but I think the redesign RX will never meet the sales numbers of the last gen. A lot of it have to do with competition, price increase, exterior design and Lexus quality on the decline.

My point is I am comparing March 09's sales numbers with March 08. During both time period, we were in recession. Most people that wants to buy a re-design RX is not going to buy a 2009 RX, they already have their mind made up, but some bargain hunter that are looking for a 09 RX might let their dealer talk them into buying a 2010.

I also know for sure (I work in the automobile industry) that you cannot judge the success of a vehicle based on comparisons to last year. The entire industry is down and these are completely unprecedented times for us.

Another factor will also be the cost of gas which I think will stay some what low for a while due to lower demand. High gas prices will move a few more Hybrids even though you should not buy the hybrid for better milage but rather for V8 performance.
