No moldings offered in NJ?

NYC bumper cars I see them with their scrapes and bumps. I figured they might have a special deal for the New Yorkers And yes, they sell the side molding here in Jersey, haven't seen protection for the bumpers.

No, they don't exactly drive better here. Maybe we need more 'padding' than you over here to protect from the brainless and/or brain dead. All that hairspray from the 80's depleted the ozone layer in Jersey Air dam done over the weekend a la Joe G style Roads are killer right now. I avoid the highways as much as I can (not kidding).

Are they hard to get lined up correctly? Can anyone put them on or do you recommend the dealer install them?

I have the parts, and will put it on when the weather gets warmer. It is not hard at all, just need to measure twice and tape ones. Also, use lots of masking tape to line it up.

As the part about NYC, the parking spaces are small, and not many care for other cars. Dent bumpers everywhere. I always park my car far from the busy area of the parking lot.

Exactly right. Work parking anyway. Everywhere else we park far far away.
Which is why I wanted them installed.
I give you credit for doing this mod yourself.
My eyes are too old, and my patience is none to zero.
What moldings will you be installing?
Hey, post some pictures when done if you get a chance.
Good luck
Joe

The molding looks ok on the 3rd generation.I'd put them on.
My wife's '09 RX has a some hits on the moldings and none on the body. The molding definitely saved us a few dings.

What? My dealership offered it on my 2010 RX. It was something like $400 installed.

Usually I think it's less than 30% of chance your doors will be dents-free or dings-free. Ppl always hit the spots higher or lower rather than those modling locations.

Default Body side molding

We bought a 2011 RX350 last month and I decided to get the body side molding. The dealer quoted $133 and I can install them. They stick on so it should be an easy job.

our one door ding after 1.5 yrs of ownership is at the level of the door handles. That convinced me to not get the side moldings, as it would have done nothing in our case. Must have been one heck of a lifted truck next to me.
