Bluetooth Question
My friend just leased a 2009 Lincoln MKS. Interestingly, there is a "privacy mode" where, if he answers his cell phone with the button on the steering wheel, it can be enabled to route the calls to the phone (private) as the default mode. There is some way to change this to having a speakerphone call be the default mode.
Is this a function of the car or the phone? Do our Lexi have this? Does your new state-of-the-art RX350 have this? I'd LOVE to have my phone in some sort of mode where I can answer it one way for broadcast and one way for private. Without having to jigger the "to phone" button so that the passenger gets insulted because you are purposely routing a default-public call to private.
And if Lincoln has this and Lexus does not, I am surprised because usually this is the sort of detail that Lexus thinks of first.

I'm not sure if '10RX has it or not, and I don't believe Lexus is always thinking of first. IMHO.

Transferring a call.
Well, unless your mobile phone has built-in special feature, it seems hard to transfer the call between the car and your mobile phone. Lexus even makes it "worse" - While the vehicle is in motion, calls cannot be transferred from the system to the mobile phone. - this RX safety feature doesn't allow you to transfer the calls to your mobiles while moving.
OK, now the driver/passenger cannot operate the Navi and transfer calls from the system to your mobile phone. What else!?

I love my car but this nanny state thing is going to far.

If you recieve the calls, after you answer, the screen will show the "transfer" button for you to redirect your calls to your cells. It seems you cannot pre-select where to go (handsfree or mobile phone).

It turns out that you are correct to question it! "SMOKEY" (as I thought it should be) is only for the bear or state police....a noun. So it IS "smoky" after all! It only took 19 months for someone to correct me!!
I've taken the question (why "smoky") out of my signature. Thanks for finally catching that!

Navigation Owner's Manual PAGE 152:
When you change from cellular phone call to Hands-free call, the Hands-free screen will be displayed and you can operate it on the screen.
Transferring method and behavior are different depending on the cellular phone which you have.
Does Navi show buttons to transfer from Navi to Cell (yes) and from Cell to Navi (??)?
Trying it tomorrow.
