How would you compare the suspensions between the 07 and the 10?
For me the engine noise is a non issue. Barely noticeable.

Mine has the 19 inch wheels. To me the ride seems about the same as my '07, which has 18 inch wheels. I have no complaints about the ride quality.

The whole car is quieter... so you're going to hear more noise. Bigger wheels and lower profile tires are noisier and impact the ride quality.

If you want a quiet and compliant ride... get 17" wheels and tires.

You'll have the same issue with any other car on the market.

Default Engine too noisey

I currently have the RX350 which I downsized from the Gx470 and I have to say that the engine is noticeably noiser than the GX470. I may not be comparing apples to apples since the GX is a V8 vs the RX's V6. The noise is evident when I drive on speeds less than 40 mph. In highway driving, it's not too noticeable. I plan to take the car in this weekend to have it checked. Has anyone taken their car to the dealer and have the engine fixed so that it's more quieter? Thanks.

Are you serious? This is the design of the car. Nothing the dealer can do other than check a few systems to be sure the engine is running right.

A V8 has a lower engine noise or tone... so it's going to be less obtrusive and sound more like background noise.

Totally agree with you. I also expected way less noise!

I will tell you more. The seat belt adjuster on driver's side makes rattling noises when on bouncing road. It's right in your left ear. It's annoying. Addressed it with service they said it's by specs. They compared to other new models and same thing. I also compared and heard it on same cars. You pay almost 50K to have noise by specs?

I just had a loaner and it had 5k on it. The engine noise was way more noticeable then my own. It reminded me driving a kia sportage once. I got my horse back and also noticed more noise, but less than the loaner. I only got 1k.

It's a whole new engine family now and the valves are chain driven vs belt driven. That along along with the lower weight oil for less friction will make the sounds different, especially when it's cold. With the Atkinson type engine my 450h has, it's probably even more pronounced than your 350 as the type of exhaust is different.

But it's a new car, new features, and new sounds. It's well enough insulated it doesn't bother me. Actually to me it sounds more throaty than the 'whine' my RX 300 had.

Yes, the third generation does have more engine noise than our second generation. I have even noticed a difference between one RX third generation and another of the same. So far I have noticed more engine noise in an acceleration from 35+/- mph than from a dead stop.

new model had timing chain instead of belt which introduces a little more noise but saves you cash every 100k miles
