Iphone 16gigs works fine.
I said I like to try it out, but don't have the chance of trying my USB HD. Great to know it's working after providing the extra power.

By the way it is an 80 gig HD, but the problem is i can only scroll through folders and files. Iphone gives me all kinds of options, like albums and playlists and so on. I had an old ipod mini that i moded with a 32gig card and it works fine by itself but not in the car. so i am stuck with HD.

So even if the AC3s are encrypted (iTunes bought), you can convert it to MP3 in iTunes? I vaguely remember it saying you can not do this for security reasons. I'll have to try again when I get the chance.

i got the double usb cable and hooked up my 80gb hd. worked like a charm. i also noticed that sound quality is better than the ipod (may be it is just me). i wonder if the system will recognize any kind of play lists as a file?

Any music file with MP3 or WMA would be recognized by the system. Any other music files will be ignored and skipped. The screen won't even show their names/folders.

As ppl described before, iTune can easily convert any files into MP3 format.

(In week 1, I saved tons of music files into my USB, but didn't realize this MP3 stuff...)

i meant playlist files. not the actual song files.
for example .asx, .wax, .wvx, or .wmx file name extension. or M3U
