Thumbs down Average speed display pretty useless

Why would you want to know what your average speed is? Give me my real-time speed instead. That would at least be useful.

Does anybody know whether a digital display of the real-time speed is possible, aside from HUD?

Hello, sorry I can't answer your question as I haven't got a RX (yet).

But since I see that you have the Premium package, I was wondering how the backup camera on rear view mirror is? How useful is it? It seems pretty small... Too bad it only appears on the screen only if you have the navigation package.

In my opinion, the backup camera in rearview mirror is just as good if not better than having it in the navigation screen. The reason is that when you back up, you always have to look at the rearview mirror, so the camera view is right there as well. Your eyes do not need to wander between the nav screen and the rearview mirror.

As far as size goes, keep in mind that the rearview mirror is closer to your face than the nav screen, so the end result is that the images are about the same size.

Avg speed = 15, you must spend a lot of time idle or at a light. The avg speed is useless because it takes into consideration of your speed when you are parked with the car on as well... so unless you are racing cross country to beat a timed checkpoint and trying to maintain a constant average speed.... its not much use

I guess you will get this number or lower if spending time in the city like NYC... I got similar number after 1.1K.

You can reset the avg speed whenever you want, but i Agree it is not that useful.

not very useful, but tose who have nav (or non nav im not sure) do not get time elasped in the car in the Trip Information screen. People complain about this, but avg speed is another way of displaying Trip Time because you can figure it out via avg speed and miles driven
