Music connection problem with iPhone 3GS
Anyone else have this problem and hopefully a solution?
I have an iPhone 3 GS which will permit the phone to pair with the RX but then the ipod/music function won't pair.
Or, I can erase the phone connection from the car and successfully pair the music but then I can't pair the phone.
It seems I can have either the phone or wireless music but not both.

It works for me with my iphone 3GS. I paly music through the car speakers and when a phone call comes in or I dial out the music stops and I handle my phone call through the car speakers. The instructions are in the owners manual. You set up Bluetooth twice, once for the phone and once for car multimedia or BT tab. It is only necessary to enter a pin number once. You handle the phone with the phone controls and the music through the BT tab. It took less than a minute to set it up once I found the directions in the owners manual.

Page 345 of 2010 RX350 owners manual. Don't know if it's the same page for 450h. Just went through this and it worked just as in the instructions. For some reason though, it does require you to say a name for it, but you can name it anything you want.

I'm usually pretty good at this kind of stuff, but the connection is driving me crazy. After several attempts I've got it to work...sort of.
Now, when I get in the car with my phone, the music starts playing whether I want it to or not. So, I'll go to Audio and turn off the BT tab. Then, I'll try to use the phone, but "she" says the phone is not connected. I'll try again a few minutes later and the phone is connected, but I can't get back to the music. When I finally get back to the music, the phone won't connect. You gotta laugh to keep from taking a hammer to it! lol
I'm going to erase all the settings this weekend and start over.
It's starting to remind me of last Fall when I bought a replacement key for the SC430 and spent 2 hours opening car doors, pushing buttons and twisting switches in a precise sequence and within the prescribed time limits to program it.
All this electronic stuff is getting to be more like magic than science. Maybe I'm just getting too old.
