Default Thanks for sharing...

I don't have problems with what it said. Ppl are well aware.

But...

•Fuel economy. Not so good. Gasoline, midteens in the burbs, though driven gently enough to keep the green "eco" attaboy light on much of the time. Hybrid, mid-20s.
Comparing to who?

•Where? Made in Japan.
??

This is new to me... I didn't know... I thought 1st/2nd Gen are also shifting power to the rears when needed... ?

...The gasoline version's all-wheel drive has been changed. Used to send power to all wheels always...

American loves to think US = World.

Except the early-built 350 or some speical-ordered 350, other 350 in US are made in Cambridge, Canada. As for 450h and other RX10 in the "world", they're from Kyushu, Japan.

However, I'm not sure if Cambridge exports any 350 to other countries.

Overall, I agree with most points in the article. Except for fuel economy. Suburban driving 14 mpg? I have not looked at the green icon since the first month ended, and I typically like to push the pedal to the floor. And in NYC traffic, I average 17-18 mpg. With the added mix of NJ and Staten Island higways, where I get 19-20 mpg.

My total average after 5 months is above 17 mpg. What did this guy do to the RX to get 14 mpg?

data2009, you got way better MPG than I had. What's your average MPH? Mine is 16 MPH, with 15 MPG. It seems I spent too much time in congested Manhattan.

•Overall: Class act, now with personality.
I do think that the hybrid is potentially fun and interesting to drive. It's interesting that in this article, the author remarks on the RX getting more 'personality' which is a more subjective discussion than other reviews which are more boilerplate features-etc. I'd have to spend more time with the vehicle to get to know that, but my impressions are that the RX is definitely more luxurious and sophisticated than before.

and yes, the past RXs had an AWD configuration that was always all wheel drive. Lexus went "cheap" with a lighter system that uses electrical torque distribution instead of mechanical. Not as good on the snow i would think (though at least they added a awd lock button)

On the early brochure for RX10 in US, it said AWD lock button top speed = 40 MPH... wow, I was so excited... then, just realized it's 40 KM/HR.

My average is 20 MPH. The trip home through NJ/SI helps the mileage stay above 17, I guess. I am comparing the stats to my previous SUV, 05 MDX, which over the same routes was giving me 14.5 MPG combined. I am typically slicing through Manhattan downtown, in over Mahnattan bridge, out thru Holland.

Canal St. is jammed all the time... except 1AM - 6AM.
