I agree. I would have never thought Lexus would repeat the mistakes of others. I may be back in a German showroom again one day.

Default bad info...

Lexus did miss the ball on not illuminating the home link button BUT the temp control is lit. The only buttons not illuminated:
1. Home link and interior lights (ceiling console)
2. Memory seat buttons
3. Auto button on rear view mirror.
4. Rear seat window controls
5. Side button on mouse/joy stick

Lexus would be well served to spend a little time reading this blog. They would get a lot of information for free that they cannot get from any outside source at any price; an honest customer's opinion.

And while we are at it, the steering stops seem to bounce the wheel back especially when backing. It almost knocks the steering wheel out of your hand.

What!! I never heard of this. You better have this checked by your dealer. I don't think that's normal.

We just came back from Q5 shopping this weekend, the Q5s have a 3 month waiting list, so I would say the ads are a success.

On the other topic of lighting, on my last 3 Lexus, the overhead buttons are not lit. Its part of Lexus's cost cutting. 3 LEDs at $15, times half a million cars sold equals to a 7.5 million dollars extra profit for Lexus.

The arrow buttons themselves are lit up but the text next to them describing what they do is not. Not having them lit at night as like not having any text at all during the day. For someone who doesn't drive the car all the time, this is annoying. And it's certainly not helpful for passengers...

So really the only error/or worse change from second gen to third gen is the homelink buttons.

RXSF, DOUS and Stormforge, thank you for clarifying some of the issues with the buttons. Glad to hear it's not as bad as you first thought.

I guess thats why they have ambient lighting on top, so we can see all the un-lit buttons
