2014 RX 450h AWD
- Nebula Gray Pearl
- Light Gray /Ebony Interior
- 12 Speaker Audio Package
- Heated and Ventilated Front Seats
- Navigation Package
- Premium Package with BSM
- Intuitive Parking Assist
- Towing Prep
- 19" wheels with wheel locks
A little bit about myself. Have owned a 1982 Toyota Cressida and 1987 Supra Turbo in the past. But my last car was a 2002 Camry with 49K (not a typo) miles on it that developed stripped threads in the block (TSB0015-11). Toyota refused any assistance with the repair so I bought this Hybrid SUV.
Dang, thank god I had a 32-year software engineering background before I retired, this thing is like a computer. Still trying to read the 3" of manuals. Pretty happy and excited so far.

Ditto what Cflutist said. Since she is my lovely wife, all the RX 450h AWD info is the same. Since I'm a retired Mechanical Engineer, my comments about the Camry's engine design and Toyotas response would not have been so kind.
Since we are retired, the timing was good for getting such a neat car! I might even read more of the manuals but so far I only get through about 30 pages before it puts me to sleep. Fortunately so far I've been able to solve most of her annoyances without reading the manuals and just pushing enough buttons. Still working on the chatty Nav Lady though.
That said, this forum is fantastic! Lots of great help and ideas, plus fun people.
The next task is convincing her that all the camping gear fits inside, that we can sleep in the back with the seats down, and that the car needs a good road trip.....

Congrats Ernie on what sounds to have been a great career contributing to society (as with your wife) and of course a nice gift to yourselves getting the h. Also, nice to see a couple both passionate about their cars and on the forum. Remind Cheryl how quiet the RX is which makes for a good sleeping sanctuary!
