Default Worn Remote Touch controller

I just noticed after 4K mi that my remote touch controller has a decent sized white/rubbed area. It is the spot where my thumb rests the most when using. Should this be considered normal wear and tear? I am kinda upset about it.

I would be upset about it too. Imagine after 4-5 years of ownership. It probably wont be changed under warranty because it is wear and tear, but you might want to try asking. Try not to rest your hand on it while driving and only use it when using the nav.

Wonder if you can just buy the square part and change it out

After only 4K miles??? This sounds like my friend's Chevrolet.

ok whatever the whiteness was rubbed off. I have to believe it was something I touched, then touched the controller, which sits in the sun all day and turned white. Not sure what, but relieved nevertheless.
