Just find a brand name 0w20 synth and you'll be fine.

As long as it meets the Lexus requirement for oil standards, any oil will do.

Since O-20W is synthetic oil and 5,000 miles oil changes are probably overkill for synthetic, is anyone considering going to 10,000 mile oil changes. I've seen there was an unconfirmed rumor that Toyota was thinking of extending the service level to 10,000 mile levels for synthetic oil changes. But I'm sure they are getting push back from the dealers. I know there would be a risk of not following the scheduled maintenance, but it is pretty safe risk.

The RX is not on that list of cars Toyota is considering for long oil change interval. The RX would need a bigger and higher performance oil filter among other things to make longer interval possible.

Change the filter every 3 -4 K & the oil(syn) at 12K.

In the technical sense the synthetic oil can probably maintain it's viscosity 10 or 12,000 miles without a problem. But there is still carbon and any microscopic shavings you want to flush out with new oil. Plus as someone else said the filter system would have to be upgraded for that type use. And yes, the dealers would scream bloody murder at all the profit sitting in your crankcase that long. They'd probably start charging $40 per qt if that happened.

A friend of mine who is a mechanic at a Lexus dealership tells me he has worked for Mercedes, BMW, and Audi dealerships, plus a domestic dealerships, but what is unique to Lexus buyers is the distance they push their cars between services. Some of his stories are unbelievable.
It always amazes me how people are willing to pay significant amounts of money for a car yet are too cheap to maintain them. Simply amazing.

You can buy 0W20 from Mobil and Amsol. Both are good suppliers. Synthetic oil should last longer than 5,000 miles. The only way to find out is to use it for 10,000 or even longer and take a sample to a lab for analysis.

There is a forum called Bob is the Oil Guy at http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php
that has thorough discussion of engine oil.

Instead of 0w20, can I use 0w30? Where I live 0w20 is move expensive. Also if I change oil at 7000 or 10000 miles interval, will this void the warranty. Lexus manual states that oil change should be done at 5000 miles interval.

Cool 0W30 No! No! No!

Not good for this engine. Bearings are designed for very thin oil.
