They seem to have matching floor mats available in all the colors for the RX - I could have had the ivory ones instead of the black, as I inquired about it when mine was delivered. I won't deny that there's probably a cost savings element, too, but cynically saying "it's all about cost" probably doesn't tell the whole story.

Is the ivory the same as the brown? According to Lexus parts, the mats only comes in black and brown.

Something even more odd... The gray interior in the 2010 RX350 has gray carpet and black mats. The gray interior in the 2010 RX450h has black carpet and black mats. Someone can try explaining that to me if they dare.

You just can't please them all these days. Too light=complaint about being dirty easily, too dark=cutting costs. *sigh

it's all about supply/demand - if there are more people buying the black mats, they will make that a standard, and if no one buys the ivory, because you'd be stupid to if you live in dirty/wet areas...then eventually the ivory will not be an available option.
