It looks like the engineers tried to copy their version of everybody else's design ideas and caused it to morph into this. Maybe reliable, but to me it doesn't show originality. But it's price puts it into an 'It will sell' to it's target customer category.

don't see whats the problem, its looks fine.
i have driven the previous generation Kia Sorento off-road before and its quite a solid and capable 4x4 and performed better than i expected.
However the old generation was a traditional body-on-frame construction, the new one in your pic is unibody like the RX.

Lex, a better comparison for the Genesis would be the Maybach. I can't tell the difference from the front.
But I have to agree with joedaddy1. It's not worth getting annoyed about it.

Gotta give them credit for doing well, especially when you look at the now subsidized US carmakers that couldn't design a good looking car even if someone gave them a winning design.
Hyundai's cars looks pretty good and they're moving up in quality. Makes sense to take design cues from some of the best luxury selling cars but make them more affordable.
In some ways, I'd almost say they're trying to shake things up the way Lexus did back in the day with Mercedes, BMW and Jag... or when Datsun/Honda shook things up too. Be interesting to see where they're at 5-8 years from now.

This is nothing that Lexus didnt do to Mercedes back in the day with the LS. The last gen LS look like an S class from back in the day. What goes around comes around. Now the Americans are copying the Japanese as well as the Koreans.
