2010 RX Air Dam Update
Update club members.
Once our RX was home, I wrote a letter to Al Smith, Vice President of Customer Services.
We just received a call from Vaughn Wendelstadt calling on behalf of Al Smith.
1. We are being reimbursed $326.00 for our cab fare home.
2. “Inexcusable treatment” his words, not mine, we received from the Smithtown Dealership will be reported by him to the area office.
3. Most importantly what I wanted to share, the photos that I included with the letter, before air dam modification and after, are being sent to Product Group who deals directly with the engineers in Japan. He agreed, with the redesign of the 2010 the radiator is at a greater risk of being damaged.
Out of some bad may come some good.
At least we have them looking into it.

Glad to know Lexus starts to treat you right. And, thanks for your input to Lexus Headquarters.
However, I doubt Lexus will provide the free air dam solutions for 10RX, and don't beleive Lexus will add it to 11RX, either.

If you are referring to the front and rear underun, no that is not where the problem is. It is the area between the front bumper and the front underun.
Thanks for asking.

Yeah, I don't think the underruns will work. Just reading the description it says they help protect the the under engine compartment.
Which reminds me I'm overdue for a Home Depot run...

As far as the install of the gutter guard, get under the front of your RX, the plastic splash pan behind the front bumper needs to come down some. There are 4 10 mm bolts, and 4 push pins that have to be removed. The push pins are like plastic molly screws that expand. The push pins can be removed by pulling down slowly on what looks like a nail head. This will retract the back of the pin and come out. Pull down the splash pan. This will allow you to install the gutter guard behind the lower grill. I tied the gutter guard in place with small electrical cable ties. Reinstall splash pan with bolts and push pins. Good Luck
