Default RX 350 AWD Loaded under $50K? Am I missing something?

Deciding between the RX 350 (my first Lexus) and
the Cadillac SRX. I am already a CTS owner and
about to get out of that lease.

Went to price the RX 350 on the Lexus page and
I loaded it up with every option I could. The price
came under $48K.

Now that makes no sense. I did not see the backseat
entertainment system in the summary. With that in
mind there might be other options missing as well. I
just can't understand why Lexus gives you the option
to build your automobile online and omits items....

...that is, unless a fully loaded RX 350 AWD is now priced
at $48k. I mean, go build it yourself and select the
top-tier options and you will get the same price.

Any comments?

Nice to be here.

NJRonbo, welcome to CL.

There are a few packages available in NJ but unfortunately none have the rear seat entertainment system (RSES) included. You may have to go the special order route if this is what you really want. You can get your RX custom built just for you but it can take a few months. Now I'm sure you can find a pretty loaded SRX without too much difficulty around here. I have a feeling though it'll be much more than the RX. IMO, you'll be happier in the RX.

Good luck.

Welcome to the world according to Lexus. When you put in your zip code on the Lexus site, it will show you the option packages available in your region. If you want other options that is offer out of region, you need to special order the car.

caddy's don't hold their value off the lot as well as lexus

which can be a positive thing if you don't mind a pre-owned

a certified pre-owned caddy comes w/ a 6yr, 100k mile, bumper-to-bumper, no deductible warranty

better than any new vehicle on the market

doubt you'll find any 2010's though, i really like the new body style

Some time in the Fall Lexus changed the available packages available in NJ. When I worked it up in August on the Lexus site the rear dvd was there, in late November it was not. Some dealers still have some with the rear dvd on their lots. I purchased one in early Dec in NJ, MSRP of 50,950. Out of the 50 or so RX's my dealer had only one had the rear dvd. I'm told that they can still be ordered that way.

Good luck.

Every year, a bunch of dealers from a region of the US get together and order a bunch of cars with a certain option packages for their region and those will be the only option packages ship to their region by Lexus. I know it sounds stupid, but that is really how Toyota decides what region will get what options.
