Default 2010 RX350 Noise in the front

I have been driving my RX for about 2 months now... I had to take the back cover off in the trunk because that was making noise... I had to move the back seat a bit because it was doing it.

Now I get a new one, something from dashboard or somewhere in that area, in drivers area, and I hear it more when I make turns, it almost sounds like plastic is rubbing against something else(dont quote me on that). Its very annoying, I looked under the hood and while the plastic covers a bit loose I really doubt that I hear them... Any one else seen/heard this and how to get rid of it. Really dont want to go to dealership with this, specially that its not too loud and really only comes up most during turns and slow driving, very strange noise....

I tried searching, but its hard to come up with search terms.

I have read so many complaints about the ones built in Canada. When I got mine I insisted that it was built in Japan. They had to bring it in from another state and I had to get the upper option package but, it was worth it. I have had my RX for a month so far and not one rattle or problem.

Lexus needs to get on top of this.

Good Luck.

I also have a Japanese build and have started experiencing dash rattles when temperatures dip under 20.

No matter where it was built, issues will come up sooner or later.

In my experiences, I found out J-built has much "less" issues than others... but this doesn't guarantee all the J-built vehicles will "always" be trouble-free.

J build or C build, they will both have lemons once a while, but if I have choose between build in J or C, I would pick a J build any day of the week.

Origin should not matter as they are built exactly same with same specification. More are built from Canada so one may think Canada built models are more prone to problems. Lexus assembly line in Canada is a “showcase” and as you can read from other threads, problem(s)/complaint(s) are for both Japan and Canada assembled vehicles. Lexus is chasing “perfection” and we all know there is no such thing as perfection.

The plant in Japan has received a World Wide Award for the best auto plant in the World. Canada can't say that. I agree that perfection is tough to achive. Lexus get's closer than the rest.

I too hear the dashboard rattle in below 30 temperatures. I think the plastic trim that's close to the windshield gets rigid in cold weather and starts to rub against the glass when the car is moving. After 20-25 minutes of heating up the windshield, the noise seems to go away (plastic softens up?). It seems to me, this vehicle has not been thouroughly tested in freezing temperatures. I'd think for Canadian-built RXs, this would be obvious.

Just curious---How do you know where yours is built? My window sticker says Buffalo, NY/TMMC. That is neither Canada nor Japan. Were some also built in the good old USA?

It is your VIN number that tells you. If it starts with a 'J' it was built in Japan. If it starts with a '2' it was built in Canada. The Canada plant is the only plant outside of Japan to build a Lexus.
