2010 rx350 - 2010 mdx
Hello all,
I went to test drive both RX350 and MDX past weekend, within one hour of each other. I have to say even through MDX has more Horse Power but I feel RX more responsible and smoother. I was very surprised, I thought the handling and pickup speed on MDX will be better but that is not the case.
I went to Rallye Lexus in Long Island, NY. They join AAA program and gave me a price qoute of Invoice + $600, which come out to $43,900 + Tax for Nav + Premium + Comfort with 18" wheels. Is that a "GOOD" price?
Thanks
- Ray

$600 over invice is a good price. Almost everyone who test drive the MDX say " Are you sure their is 300 HP in there"
The MDX with the advance package will handle much better than the RX, but its a 7 seater full size SUV, so who cares.

I think $600 over invoice is good. I also looked at the MDX and it was lacking features that the RX had. I see for 2010, MDX has now included more features. I did not like the interior that much. I think the front will become dated quickly.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

Agreed...
1. feel heavy on MDX. 300HP?
2. not favor the facade of MDX.
3. but MDX seems to add some new features this year. Interesting.
3. as for RX, $600 above invoice seems attractive. Please make sure they also give you 5K and 10K free, plus some additional accessories.

To sum up, that new snout on MDX is basically the reason I am driving RX now. That's after 8 years owning 2 previous models. If only Mister Honda would come to his senses and fire that Christinsen blonde who designed ZDX atrocity...

Agreed!! They just ruined the looks of the MDX. My daughter has an '05 MDX which she loves, but reluctantly admits that she likes my RX better. The MDX does, however, have the 7-pass seating which has come in handy. Acura better change the design before she needs a new car (many yrs down the road) 'cuz she hates the new look and she can't have my RX ! Although, maybe I'll feel differently in 5 yrs )

$600 plus invoice is pretty good. Remember to ask them if administrative fee (usually about $275) is already included. I paid $700 plus invoice (adminstrative fee already included) which I thought was pretty good also.

Had a loaded 2007 MDX. Not too much different than the 2010 mechanically. Overall it was fine to drive, handling a bit sportier than the 2010 RX. Though I do agree, RX acceleration feels a bit snappier.
MDX had a cheap interior... look at fitment of seams in dash, doors, body panels (different sized gaps in my car, maybe they fixed) and how little leather is actually in it (just middle part of seats). Not to mention tranny issues I experienced and how poorly it was handled by corporate.
I like the way the 2010 RX drives... better than my wife's 2008 RX. Much more solid like the MDX.

I just had a 2010 RX as a loaner car and even as biased as I am about power ( My car is a 670 hp Vette) I was actually surprised at the pickup. Very comparable if not a little bit faster than my RX400h.

10RX - AWD accelerates effortlessly in all gears. Engineer who programmed the transmission should get promotion. I have driven ES350 as a loaner vehicle and considering it has same 6speed, ES felt like it was pulling a trailer behind compare to effortlessness of how RX responds to various conditions. Brisk acceleration and good gas mileage [for the size], it is really a good buy compare to other luxury CUV. Of course, nobody can “touch” Acura’s seats for comfort/support.

I just saw a 2010 Acura MDX for the first time today. It may make the front look a little better on the MDX. They had one on the lot for $52,000. The MDX with tech is still $46,000.
