Sucks Ziggy, I know.

if it makes you feel any better, even with the ML here, we don't get USB or BT Audio and definitely no HDD, only option is AUX.

i don't understand Lexus logic in this at all. cars costing less than half the RX have USB and BT Audio.

its a simple programming thing, not even hardware. I dont know why they didnt include it seeing as how lower end cars have them, but this is lexus for you. No lexus has this capability except for the LS with ML. some things are just reserved for the flagship

In all fairness, I have a G37S and an RX350, and while my G37S does support recording music to the hard drive, I don't know that I'll ever use it. You can only record from an audio CD, not MP3s on any device (CD, DVD-R, USB device, iPod, etc.). Ripping any volume of audio CDs to my car's hard drive would take a long time. I'd rather just plug in my iPhone (or buy a dedicated iPod for the car) and call it a day. It's an interesting feature, but the grass isn't necessarily greener!

I agree. It takes about 7 minutes to burn a CD into the hard drive on my parents' MKS. I can't imagine having to sit there and add my music collection that way. iPod is easy enough to connect/disconnect and has higher capacity. I'll stick with that. Heck, I'm happy Lexus finally added USB capability to the RX and took away the cassette tape.

Yeah, that's my take. If you subscribe to the "time is money" principle, the $150-250 spent on an iPod that's pretty much permanently sitting in my armrest is worth WAY more than the hours I'd spend ripping ~10GB of music from my original CD collection to the car's hard drive, plus I get a high capacity iPod out of it!
