Yes, after the break in period you should see some improvement in mileage but very unlikely it will match the second generation RX. If fuel mileage had been my objective I would not have bought an entry level SUV, I would have gone with a sedan. Just enjoy your RX, use the correct fuel, keep tire pressure checked, and replace the air filter as needed.

If it makes you feel any better I have had a new GS V6 loaner now for over a week. Tonight I checked the mpg and it doesn't get any better mpg than our RX. It checked in the low 20's.

I have the AWD and my first tank came in at about 13 mpg. Second was 19 and I have been getting 20 ever since . That is combined type driving. I have verified this with a calculator. It's nice to see that it's accurate. My 4Runner was always 1-2 mpgs off.

Same here; AWD, high teens mpg average during the first 5K miles, now in the low 20's. I can live with it, I didn't shop for mpg anyway. Having said that, I sure would not mind if it got the same kind of mileage as the 04 and 07 RX AWD we had. I thought that would have been the case and the objective with the new 7 gear transmission.

same here
I have about 2300 mi on my 2010 rx350 now. I live in Queens NY, so a lots of stop and go. I got about 12 mpg too. But I guess this is the average mpg for suv. I doubt acura mdx could do better.

After 1 year of mixed driving/almost daily commute, trip computer shows 19 mph and 16.7 mpg overall. I drive through Manhattan traffic twice daily, and average 15-16 mpg weekly. I drive aggressively almost all the time, use manual shifter, cycling 3-4-5, do not use Auto Climate feature, as I find it annoying. In coins, I go through one fill-up weekly, at $43-45 per each for 93 (prefer BP lately). I feel the quality is better than Hess, Exxon, Sunoco, or Shell I tried.

Mine usually runs around 16-17 mpg in town (I live in a small town without a lot of waiting for lights). On interstates, it is anywhere from 22-26 depending on hills/speed, etc.
If I just leave the computer on without resetting, the composite average is generally around 21.
NOW....if you drive in town and get 15 MPG during a week, and you have only driven about 30 miles....who cares.

I am also getting horrible mileage. I have tried everything but am averaging 11.5 mpg in my daily commute which is half freeway and half city. I think the hwy mileage estimates are about right, but Lexus sure fudged the numbers with this supposed 18 mpg city. I smell a class action lawsuit. Oh, btw, in city alone yesterday (stop and go) I got 9.5 mpg!!

Nice going, everyone. Not a frequent contributor, but avid reader of this forum.
Has anyone looked at how much miles you get when you fill your tank? I get about 330 or something, give or take. It varies from pump to pump, but seems consistent if I use one pump. My question is - do most people get 330+/- miles on a full tank? The rest is on your driving habits. If you are getting more than that, what may be the reason?
