If I could get the same set of options you got priced out at 45K....I would definitely bite on that.
really it comes to location. i'm from texas and dealers down there do not discount nearly the same. imho, in my current local area of long island with 6 lexus dealers within one hour of driving, and with people here buying german cars to the point where there's only one or two of each model on the lot with very different options, deals are better on lexus's here. if you read through my previous posts, i've been to various car dealerships (not only lexus) and basically had them bid against each other over the past few months because i knew if i didn't like the price - i could simply leave (plus this is the 8th or so car buying experience for me). i was actually leaning towards the mdx but in all honesty, i was also waiting to see if toyota's recent recall situation would trigger another rebate like the recession did for my ISF (which was $5k!!). as soon as the $1000 rebate came out, i took it. another rebate might come out, but i needed a car before my baby came - so i felt i waited long enough.

the rebate should be applied immediately. i have no idea how long those rebates were suppose to last at this point...

yeah, I don't think there's any rebates going around. most recent quote for a similarly loaded RX 350 AWD like yours was 48,601 + TTL...MSRP is 51,593. Needless to say, I pretty much told her to take a hike. The dealership was in Chicago, so there was going to be a $400 charge to transport the vehicle down to me.

you're more than welcome to try the dealership i went to and see if it can be price matched and shipped for a few extra hundred dollars... (516) 766-4320 ask for leo cruz, and ask if he could match "jerry's and cynthia's" deal... another member on CL got the exact same price of $48,XXX for the ISF when they mentioned i knew how much i paid. this place is only 10-20 mins away from me and i'd be willing to check out the car and send pics if needed. we have to go back for our 1k service in a week or two anyways.

yeah, so there shouldn't be any reason why I can't get what I want for 45K. invoice price of the rear entertainment can't be $2700. (realizing that the rear entertainment package includes navigation and the MSRP is $5100 for that package)

***UPDATE***

offered her $45K...waiting to see if she accepts. probably no shot at that, but I'm not in a hurry and won't mind waiting till October to get the same vehicle for a lower price before the 2011s come out.

***UPDATE 4/13/10***

finally went into our local dealer to see what they could do, knowing they didn't have one on their lot. ended up being a pretty good day for us. ended up getting 2010 RX350 AWD with Comfort, Premium, Rear entertainment, Navigation, 19" wheels and park assist for $46,957 + TTL (MSRP was 51,700). we got what we wanted from our trade...with a little back and forth negotiating. put the deposit down and will have to wait 10 days for them to get it from the factory (being built as we speak). good thing about that is it won't be sitting outside dodging hail, tree sap, rude customers that swing their doors into all the new vehicles, etc. Tungsten Pearl with Grey interior...works for us! overall a great experience at the Lexus Store of Lexington!!
