Not necessarily. OC is correct on store bought CD's. I have the same issue. But if I were to rip them to my laptop and then burn another CD from there, the data would be available on the NAV screen. Given that, I just use my Ipod that holds tons of music and can program from the NAV screen as to Artist, Album, type of music etc. Because of that, I use my CD player very rarely now.
But for some reason, it doesn't read the txt data from the store bought CD.
if you are burning these yourself, you need to make sure you are burning the data as well. If you use itunes, there is a setting to burn the tack titles

yup, that's my experience. for some reason even though data a lot of times are stored in the store bought cd, but they are not in the "display" mode or whatever. when you rip the cd and re-burn a cd with the text info enabled, it will work
Can see data on some store bought CDs, but most not. Not sure of why the difference. DVDs are another story.
