It seems that my RX350 is cursed with noises. I have a separate thread on the noise from the B-pillar. But now there are other noises - one comes from the steering column area, while the other is from the center console area. The steering-column noise is a continuous rattling noise. I heard it mainly at low speed, but I don't know if higher speeds generate more road noise that masks it. The center-console noise is like a cracking or popping noise that can be heard at all speed. Note, however, that both noises are not very loud. I really wish that my hearing were not this sensitive.

Frankly, I'm about at the end of my rope here. I believe that all the noise problems that I have are basic problems that a car of this caliber should not have. I have a 12-year-old Nissan Altima that has never had these BS. They have robbed me of the pride of ownership and peace of mind. Has anyone else had these problems? If so, I'd appreciate it if you could share your experience on how to get rid of them. Thanks.

 

I have heard the crackling sound coming from the center of the dash. It is not consistent, I have only heard it a few times. All the other noise problems talked about in this site I have had and have managed to fix them. It does take away from the Lexus experience by having these problems. Once they are fixed and you sit back and enjoy the car, it is quite nice. I agree for $45-50k you should not have to do this.

 

this one of my biggest problems with this car, too many random rattles and squeaks.

the B-Pillar noise can be fixed as explained here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...esolution.html i have done the same thing with a thin foam instead of felt tape and it the noise went away.

the center console noise, do you hear the crackling when you press against the silver part of the dash? i had this issue and it got worse with hot weather. i fixed it by carefully spraying some WD40 behind the silver part of the dash, didn't make it 100% go away and its much less now.

the steering wheel noise i haven't experienced, but check under the dash there where the tire pressure button is located, the black plastic might be loose.
