Lets just say I felt way better about buying her a Lexus than the Audi Q5 we also looked at, which also would have put us 360 miles form the Audi dealer too. Yo live and learn I guess. I am about to order $500 worth of crap from AutoGeek.com to fix the swirl issue myself!
I sincerely regret you have had this problem. The more I read on here the more I realize all Lexus dealers aren't created equal. I hope Lexus gains control before they are just another dealership.

10 pages and counting... Did I miss the fun, or what?

Since I am in the same boat (see my previous posts about the paint issues with my 1 yo car), I definetely understand the problem. Can I take it to a detailer once a week? Sure. Or perhaps learn how to operate Makita Orbital Polisher and Zaino it twice a month. But I simply find something better or more important to do lately, and I still do not like the swirled/scratched look of my RX. I walked close to many similarly colored Audis, BMWs, Benzes, and Hyundais, and I do not see the scratches (swirlmarks ignored).

I also decided not to ***** about it at Lexus or dealership (I have a 15k service coming up, so I'd give a dealership a try to buff out the scratches), but I'm sure they will be back 2-3 weeks after. So for me, RX became an appliance. As such, it costs too much to maintain. With another headache - Bridgestone HL tires replacement. Not exactly the Lexus experience I was looking for. But my wife still likes it - it's her first car.
