I am proud to say that I just signed for a my very first Lexus! Still waiting on delivery, but I am very excited!

I have seen a bunch of complaints about the ipod/iphone compatibility with the USB connection playing audio from the first song on the playlist. I was wondering if the bluetooth software can work for streaming audio with the iPhone 3GS. On that note also wondering if anyone has tried the voice-command to pick which artist/song to play. I know that this usually works with bluetooth ear pieces, but was wonder if this worked this way in the car too.

I will also check this when I get the car and provide feedback.

Streaming audio works; I haven't tried any voice command stuff.

I was wondering the same thing, myself. I just did a test drive yesterday and checked out the USB integration with the iPhone, and did NOT see the same issues everyone else is reporting.

I did try setting up a Bluetooth connection with my iPhone 3GS, and it worked pretty well/quickly. It was able to suck all of my contacts across to the car's speed dialling list. But I couldn't figure out if there's a way to use the car to send that "signal" to the phone that allows voice command, like a bluetooth earpiece does.

The fact of the matter is, the voice recognition in the iPhone 3GS is really cool, and it's great about matching voice commands with names in my phone book without training... possibly better than the Lexus voice commands, where I think you have to set up "voice tags" with your contacts?

Anyone know if there's a way for the car controls to access the iPhone's voice command input?

Speaking only about a RX with navigation, you pair the iPhone, go to audio section of navigation and the to BT tab, push the connect button if you aren't already connected and music should start playing. Only the play and pause icons will show on the nav.

Then just push and hold the Home Button on the iPhone to bring up Voice Control and have at it. Nothing really to change in the Lexus or turn on if you are successfully paired. I don't think you can use the the iPhone's voice control from or through the Lexus, only from the iPhone.
