xm renewal deals?
It's coming time to renew my xm service for another year. Has anyone gotten a good deal? What about the lifetime deal? Currently have "xm everything". Thank you for your time in responding.

I threw out a flyer from XM a few days ago. I think it was $77 for 10 or 12 months. Lifetime will run you $399. Add taxes to both. I opted for lifetime with payments split over a few months when I called them in March.

Mine expired and I did not bother renewing it as I only listened to it once. They keep sending me things in the mail to start up again, I believe they are offering a year for $79.
They are getting closer to a price I would except. Good Luck.

Called Xm, the lifetime with built-in receiver, cannot be transferred to another vehicle. Stated the $77 price was not available. Only thing offered was 1 year at $180.

XM doesn't care about making a deal while you're still under trial period. They won't offer any special rates and will just tell you to let it run out if you tell them to cancel. One thing I found was to call their regular number, not the one on the form you received in the mail from them. They'll just regurgitate those rates. When you call the regular number tell them you heard about a deal for $77 for one year. If you don't get it, call back and get another person on the phone.
I opted for lifetime which can be transferred if you get into an accident with your car and it's totaled. The cost is around $460 with taxes. I'd calculate how many years you plan on keeping the car and see if it's worth it. For me not having to call up every few months or every year to renew and find the next best deal made the decision easier.

Anita - hey, that takes all the fun out of it!
XM/Sirius are closed to BK because of their huge start-up costs and the unreal amounts of money paid to the Howard Sterns of the world. They'd rather have xxx amount of clients at $77 per year than zero clients at $180/year.

Jeff, I wasn't looking for fun I use my iPod way more than XM. I only kept it for the times I'm bored with the musical selection.
Wonderful Howard Stern. I interned at the TV station where he had his show years ago. He is as big of a pig in person as on the radio.

Has anyone been offered the $399 lifetime deal lately? My XM expired last month and I've been debating whether or not I should get the $399 lifetime deal. Just when I was leaning towards doing it, I got a call from XM this morning offering me the $77 for a year offer. I asked for the lifetime and was told the $399 (plus fees) lifetime offer is no longer available. It's now $499 (plus fees).
What are the latest offers out there before I make a commitment? Any secrets to getting it back down to $399?
