Default Useless dash cup holder--any good uses?

Any suggestions for how to use the cup holder left of the steering wheel? Sometimes I put a small cup there to hold change/parking stubs, etc. I'd like to modify it to be a small compartment, complete with closing door.

Some ppl also said about this in the past. You may like to take a look... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...mpression.html

IMO, although it's not quite useful, I'm glad there is the extra bottle/phone holder out there.

I stick my cell phone there now as an automatic habit. Get's it off my hip when I'm buckled. But on a long ride, it will hold a bottle of water or softdrink and the A/C helps to keep it cool .

My mom puts her water bottle or cup of tea in there since it's easily accessible.

I actually use it like it was intended for drinks - water bottles, soda cans - and like others mention, the AC vent helps keep them cool.

I use mine for coffee. My wife uses both the console holders, one for the liquor, the other for the mixer.

I use the one in the front door pockets for change. Simply put the ashtray in there.

I drive mostly solo, so I took the insert out of the center console cupholder. That makes it a nifty compartment for sunglasses and whatnots.

With that, I do use the left cupholder as a cupholder.

Mine came standard with this but at $26 it's worth it. Keeps everything out of the way.

LOL...looks like we have some of the same squawks about the 350.

With the seat all the way back, I find the leftside cupholder to be uncomfortably distant.

As for the cellfone...that's a good spot, except that the charging connector comes out of the center console. I find the leftside cupholder to be nearly useless.

I actually have just started using it recently. I don't like to have the center one open as I enjoy looking at the real wood, that I paid so much for. Now that it's hitting around 100 degrees it does keep your drink cold, like that.
