Default Mirror display--backup camera glitch?

After starting the engine, the very first time I put the car in reverse, there is a sudden change in brightness in the mirror camera display. The display is relatively dark when it first turns on, then gets to normal brightness in about 1 second. Subsequent shifts to reverse do not have the change in brightness.

This is barely noticeable, since it requires attention to the mirror while shifting to reverse for the first time on each engine run. However, with a service date coming up soon, I'm wondering if others have the same operation....is it a problem or just a characteristic of how the design is implemented.

OK....went in for 5k service today and mentioned the camera display behavior to the customer service gal. Without any hesitation, she said that the behavior was normal. The display is completely off until you put it in reverse, and the display may take up to 5 seconds to turn on and stabilize. Usually it would be 1-2 seconds max.

So...I'm going with that. Mine takes about 1 sec to stabilize on the first activation, and subsequent activations (without turning off the engine) are nearly instantaneous.
