LOL are we sure that canadian built RXs have vins starting with a 2? apparently, its impossible to know the production schedule unless you work at the plant.

I wish I knew this when I bought my car. I was deciding between black or truffle mica, and ended up choosing black. If I knew the truffle mica would have come from Japan I would have chosen that colour.

Oops, my mistake I should have read all the replies. If I decide on a RX in the future, I will definitely wait for a Jp made car (if they are still made in Jp at that point)

Only 350's with complete base package and ultra premium (w/ RSES) are Japan built.
Germany, Japan, England, Britain etc... don't have any middle packaged cars, it is either complete base or completely loaded hence in NA we have middle packages which are built here and are the most popular. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Don't think that is the case.

Plant/Country of origin is on the vin plate inside the driver's door. Clearly stated.

For the record, the Sport package also comes from Japan; this has been mentioned many times...

Sorry to hear about the issues. The Canadian plant is built to Lexus Japan specs with adjustments for the larger size of the workers. We even had some CL members take a plant tour.

While I prefer and like the fact my Lexus are all built in Japan I have full confidence in the Canadian plant.

I hope things are resolved for the O.P

Maybe a sample of one, Monday or Friday build, or just simple cost cutting. In any case next car, if there is one, will be a different brand.

pretty sure I explained this in the "True of False" thread. I was also told that the RX350s with RSES (because they all come loaded if they have that) are built in Japan. however, the spec sheet from the factory clearly has the VIN starting with a 2, which = Canada.

Our RX is Canadian built. We haven't noticed any road noise or build issue's, it's very solid. Besides the VIN, I believe I saw somewhere else on the vehicle when we first got it that it was made in Canada. I will check tomorrow to see if I can find it again.

Well FYI ensure that other brand builds their cars where you want.

BMW-multiple plants outside of Germany including Africa and of course South Carolina.

Benz-plant in Alabama that makes the M/GL and the C-class is next

Acura-plant in Canada (MDX) and Ohio (TL, RDX)

Infiniti-old QX built in Mississippi

There are other examples as well.
