Check AWD system message
Today I installed Mud Guards bought from Canada on my RX350 2010 AWD. It's straight forward and easy. But then when I start the car the engine Check light was kept on and also displays the message: Check AWD system. I am not sure whether I did something wrong when installing the Mug Guards. I am going to my dealer the tomorrow first thing in the morning. Do you guys have any idea about how this could happen? Will the dealer charge me the the fix? Thanks

Your ECU's check warning light needs to be reset. If you know someone who owns a OBDII meter ($89 @ Costco), you could have him do this simple task. If you choose to have the dealer do it, don't tell them this was the result of your install. They may come you with a phony excuse to charge you for taking up their time. You may also be able to accomplish the reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.

Thanks for all the replys. Today I went to my dealer. The technician checked and could not find anything wrong and then they just reset the sytem. That's all. Jonny says it can be done with a OBDII meter. Can I DIY with the meter? Because I am sure the dealer will charge me big$$ for this after warranty expires. Now I know the Toyota cars like cpomuters they need to reboot from time to time.

all cars need the OBDII meter to clear messages. Cars are quite advanced now. If you make a good relationship with your service advisor, the dealer wont charge you for these petty things.
