Default IPOD USB - Selecting Bug (Lexus Enform GPS)

I found a bug in the 2010 RX 350. You have to have GPS installed to have see this bug.
  1. Plug in your ipod.
  2. Press "Menu" (physical button near the mouse)
  3. Go to Audio Screen with the mouse.
  4. Go to the USB Tab.
  5. Go to any tab of your preference "songs, genre, playlist, etc.."
  6. I am going to use the "song" tab for this example.
  7. Then select a song.
  8. The Problem starts here, if you scroll down using the button on the GPS Screen or the physical button inbetween Menu/Map button. The system will automatically select the Song of the Top of the selection menu.
  9. You can't avoid it. So lets say I am listening to "Born in the USA" and navigate by pressing the down arrow to scroll down the list shouldn't it keep playing my current song? Instead, when you press scroll down and the next list of songs show up it will select the top song of the selection. I didn't even press "Enter" to do this it happens automatically.
  10. You can try to avoid it by pressing the down arrows fast but eventually it will switch the song.

This is for a 2010 RX 350 with GPS. Version 9.1

If you wouldn't mind, look on your door frame and tell me when your car was built.

Thanks,

If you look through the past posts RE: USB/Ipod, you'll find it's been a source of consternation since the 2010 came out.

But over all, this is one great car. It just has a few oddities many people would call glitches.

Welcome and congrats on your choice.

I just put a bunch of my songs in a USB thumbdrive and when you browse through the song list it DOES NOT Auto-select the song, so I'll be leaving my itouch in my gym bag and putting a bunch of songs on a thumbdrive. You can also browse through folders and pretend they are playlists...

It's not a universal problem, though. I checked it out with an iPhone 3GS in a RX450h at my dealer in a non-demo vehicle, and didn't see the "start to play first item" bug there at all... and so I decided to buy one, which I will hopefully get this weekend to replace my 2004 RX330.

My theory (and apparently some others, too) is that it had been fixed in some of the models coming out of assembly the most recently?
