anyone getting free sat/nav traffic info
several days ago i started getting traffic info on my nav screen
my 3 month trial expired many months ago
has anyone else noticed this, is xm doing a free demo
i hit the sat button on radio by accident the day before i noticed the service
thought about hitting it again to see if xm radio is working, but afraid i might lose my traffic
just switched jobs last week & the traffic info is now meaningful to my commute

bummer, was hoping they'd botched something & i was getting it free
nice service to have, donno it's worth the ~10 or so bucks/month they charge
google maps on my blackberry shows me the same info for free, just on a smaller screen

I started getting weather warnings three days ago -- I didn't buy that service. Might have to consider it -- actually useful this week.
I'd much rather have real time weather radar. That I would pay for without complaint.

I'd skip it. Without radar it's pretty useless. Warnings are sporadic if they happen at all. I will have to check if it's back for the 'freebie' period.

I had a little difficulty with a bluetooth phone call yesterday and finally turned off the car and my phone. When I started the car up, XM weather was on the screen announcing a weather alert. It's the usual alert for this area, flooding.
I had dropped XM weather because there aren't any cities in the list within 200 miles to the west of me and the one to the east is 125 miles away. Useless.
I was caught off guard and blamed my cellphone problem on XM. Totally not related I'm sure.

Yup, weather is back. There is a severe thunderstorm watch until 8:00 p.m. in my area. Typical, no warning popped up before. I'll check again later. Obviously this little freebie won't change my mind.

most congested road in US, NE highways like 95 and all the beltways in between. traffic alerts like orange/red with estimated length of time is not accurate at all but it is informational while driving through.

Darn, and I thought my nav update somehow got me free traffic. I was almost willing to overlook some of the problems I'm having if I got free traffic. Although my smartphone will do the same but just not as fast.

Somehow, I was getting xm radio for almost a year, free. it was finally turned off around march, but the past week, I also started getting weather/traffic updates. I did not find the feature useful then, and I do not find the feature useful now. I live in a big city, and I know better how to get around traffic jams, so traffic updates are useless to me. For weather updates, I have WeatherBug installed on my pc, laptop, and iphone, plus when the weather icon lights up, it usually warns about 'severe weather conditions' around 50 miles away. I do not miss xm radio stations, too. Nice try, xm, but still no guitar... for me.
