Wind noise when over 50-55mph?
I went to the dealership yesterday and test-drove an rx350, the overall feeling was very good! The only thing I notice was when I drove it over around 50-55mph, there seems some wind/air (noise) coming into the car. I tried to turned off all fans, and the noise became more noticeable. I would say if I turn the radio loud enough, that sound can be covered. The sales was blaming on the hood deflector but I really doubt it since the noise was not coming from the front.
Does anyone experience that?

There were two things reported as making wind noise at those speeds. One was the early 2010 RX's had a single ply side front side window glass. There is a TSB on it and my glass was replaced with the 2 ply glass. My RX was made in April of 2009.
The second thing it might have been was the seat fan. You would need to check the controls located under the sliding console door. At the higher fan speeds it does make noise that most/some can hear.

Lexus Test Driver
It could possibly be the hood deflector. These cars are wind tunnel tested and designed with the various parts of the vehicle shaped to efficiently deal with the wind. The deflector could be changing those aerodynamics therefore causing more noise than usual. Just a guess.

I have heard something like this, but hardly find the detailed stuff. If you have more info about this TSB, do you mind sharing with us? Thanks very much.

4482, do you have more details related to that single ply side front side window glass? Do you mean the side windows of driver/passenger?

You should find the TSBs in this thread in .pdf format.
And yes, it's for the side drivers and passenger windows.

i also get wind noise @ higher speeds
i've removed my roof rails, i have the multi-ply glass, & my seats fans are always off, they're pretty useless
sounds like it's coming from the front left corner of the roof, near where they place your maintenance reminder sticker

I did have this one in my laptop.
With this TSB L-SB-0014-10 Rev1, does this mean only vehicles having the VIN# lower than 2T2BK1BA#AC015087 with noticible noise are qualified for this repair?

Yes on the VIN question I'd guess.
You can tell if you have the single or two ply glass in the front side windows by looking down at the top of the window glass. With the two ply you can see the two pieces of glass sandwiched together.
