I've been considering pre-ordering the 2011 RX 450h fully loaded but unfortunately I just found out that they discontinued my favorite color, Black Sapphire Pearl. They have added two new colors, Black Opal and Stargazer Black. I have looked at Black Opal, which seems to be more of a pure black, but can somebody tell me what Stargazer Black looks like? Are they really going with Obsidian, Black Opal, and another shade of black and dropping my deep blue?

Hibrid, Welcome to the club!

First off, I think Black Opal has been on the flagship hybrid and its more like a deep purple. I have not heard of stargazer black, so it must be an entirely new color for Lexus. My guess would be that its a metallic black. Metallic black has been missing from the Lexus lineup since its inception in 1990, and honestly, I would not buy any black car from Lexus because of this. Metallic really hides swirls well.

I guess that doesnt help much, but I guess they are dropping the navy blue.

Also I am curious if your dealer already is allowing you to order the 2011 model? I have been waiting patiently, but I have not actively gone to the lexus dealership. Do you have any other information regarding changes for 2011?
