From Bob;
Depress Menu
Select Destination
At the top of your present route there will be a question "Delete present destination?" Select Yes.

Well it stops it, but it is doing it by pausing, therefore, if you go back into the menu, you can re activate it and it will continue to bring you to that destination. Also you can note that if you pause it and get there by yourself, the destination on the map will still have the circle icon as technically the car is still under guidance.

I only hear the verbal warnings when I put in a destination and am driving. Now I avoid highways like the plague around here and don't drive too much so I don't really use it that often. But if the nav screen is set to the right distance (+1 mile), the traffic will show up and you can click on the traffic icons to get info.

Pole Position
Anita is right, XM Traffic only works when it knows where you're going (iow, when a Destination is input by you). Otherwise, how could the Navi predict where you're going and what warnings to give you - there could could be dozens of warnings active at any time in your area, so which one?
