AWD Comparison RX 2009-2010

So will the active torque stay on if your going 80km/h (50m/h) in the snow if called on?
The idea is to have a safe truck incase of snow squalls and high winds outside of the city where I live.
Also, is the VDIM a major "must have" feature?

ACtive torque is on all the time. Only the differential lock turns off above a certain speed I thought. VDIM is a feature only with a certain package which I don't have...can't comment on that. Regardless, 80 kph is a little fast for my taste driving through a snow squall...perhaps your definition of squall is different than mine. My only experience with such things was when I was at Elmendorf AFB (Anchorage) AK. Your Great White North colleagues on this forum may be able to guide you more appropriately on that issue.

When driving in conditions where chains are required except for vehicles with four wheel drive, does the RX450h AWD meet the four wheel drive requirements? I'm concerned about be stopped by the CHP.
