Default Backup camera lens & rain

We have a 2010 Cerulean Blue RX 350 with Nav (American car-Cambridge, ONtario built). Every time we get heavy rain, it splashes onto the backup camera on the tailgate. The raindrops leave spots on the lens that need to be cleaned off.

Has anyone else had this problem? What do you do to clean the lens? Anyone tried any DIY mods?

that is just the nature of the camera, but I dont really suffer much from dried rain. While it rains and the raindrop is there, it no longer becomes an effective way keeping your bumper new. just clean it with a wet cloth.

digital lens cleaner ie. finger, dry or wet. No other way to prevent it that I could see. Putting a "hood" would limit FOV since it's a wide angle.

I'm not sure Rain-X would cure the problem. My guess is it would result in smaller drops which would be more obvious. For Rain-X to be effective, you need wind blowing over the glass dispersing the water droplets. However, I will try it on mine. My LS's camera was set further in, resulting in fewer droplets settling on the lens, unlike the RX.

Johnny, I bet you are correct. Let us know the result of your test of the Rain-X.
