COOKIE UPDATE: Sewell of Dallas

How far the mighty have fallen. I went in to get my sunroof serviced (they don't service the sunroof? Lincoln did.) In palmier days Sewell passed out expensive Italian cookies to all. Exquisitely rolled delicate crispy shells filled with a creamy hazelnut concoction which, on occasion, caused unseemly elbowing at the cashier's counter.

This...is what I received today. If I'm not mistaken this is a domestic brand of snack. It's parsimonious sized matched only by it's lackluster packaging. I am stunned.

Did you eat the Mint Krispy, or refuse it as a matter of pride?

I gobbled it right up, of course. I don't recall ever refusing a snack. I'm sad the mighty Sewell is reduced to passing out second rate treats but a cookie is a cookie.

Default Cookie

Well, at least Sewell gives you something! Park Place (Dallas and Grapevine) give nothing - no mints, no cookies, nothing. They used to have cold bottled water, but that's been gone for several years (a so-called 'eco initiative'). They have a complimentary soda fountain and a Keurig tea/coffee machine, but that's it.

Perhaps they don't give out anything to eat in the hopes of directing guests to their sparsely patronized on-site 'FoodWerks' cafe. I have never seen a cafe at a car dealership before - I don't get it.....

Boy, in reading this thread I realized that the San Antonio Lexus is very fancy. You get cookies, fresh coffee, fresh fruit, soda, and a variety of candy. To top it off you get a message in a little room by the stairs.

I didn't see anyone tipping either. I will surely take my car there for maintenance once in a while and won't mind going for warranty work (jk I hope no warranty work is needed).

Does the message tell you when your car is ready
