Default Any customary rules to remember for the service department?

Hey everyone,

Ok so I'm dropping my baby off tonight for them to install the remote start and the rear dvd system as agreed upon when I bought the car. I also read in a welcome email that they will wash and detail the car with every service job. (which she desperately needs after a weekend in the mountains!)

What I'm wondering is, do I tip anybody in the service department? Just wanted to be prepared if theres some customary "lexus" rules to follow when ya put the car in for service.

Thanks!

there is definitely no need to tip them. the only rule in my book is that the customer is always right.

My suggestion would be to fill out any surveys they send. It might be an e-mail, mail, or phone call from the dealer or Lexus. The e-mail version is kinda cool with music while filling it out. I make sure I mention everyone I dealt with and my experience, always positive. It takes literally two minutes to complete.

Don't let them "forget" to give you your cookie either although it is a sad sight to see a grown man begging for a cookie.

and trust me, it's big deal to them. you literally help determine if they get their bonus for that month

That's exactly why I complete the surveys. They deserve it!

all they have is a coffee/tea station and a soda machine. And then the if you want a bottle of water or anything in a can, they make you go to the cashier and actually ask them for it. In all fairness, they are currently in a temporary location while the dealership is being built from the ground up.

The mints are left in the car after service and have the dealership name on them. Nice touch. Now they have lots of goodies and drinks inside the waiting area. But I come from a distance and usually have my own water in hand. Exception is the winter. Hot chocolate is better

RXSF, when my dealer was expanding their service area several years ago - they took over an old ice rink - I received a stress ball with their name on it. They didn't want us to stress out over the construction. I still have it
