iPod with no nav
I've done a ton of searching & can't find the answer so hopefully someone can help. I have a new 2010 RX that I'm very happy with, other than the iPod functionality. I didn't even consider a model with nav since I use my phone and like all the features. However, it seems like I lost out on most of the iPod functionality without the nav. When I plug my iPod in (an older model) it plays just fine in the car. However, I like to listen to songs by genre. Once the iPod is plugged in, the screen says 'do not disconnect' and I can't change the genre from the controls on the car or the iPod.
Is there a way that I can jump to a different genre from the controls? Or something I can do so I can change it on the iPod without having to unplug?

try using the aux adapter (you need a special cable to connect your ipod to aux)it's located beside the usb adapter, this way you control your playlist through your ipod and maybe just maybe you can use the usb just to charge your ipod.
ipod headphone jack --------->aux jack 3.5mm cable not sure
