rattling center console
i was wondering if anyone else has this strange creak/rattle coming from the center console? it sounds like it is coming from the cup holder tray area or the little pocket that i use to put my cell phone down in. my car only has 7000 KM's so far. it seems to make the sound fairly easily when i brake. haven't actualy pinpointed the exact location but just wondering if anyone else has this problem? is it easy to take those trays out to look under or are they glued tight?
thanks

I have the same problem (when starting and stopping), I've cushioned everything. Appears to be in the large storage bin (it's been cushioned). Questioning whether it could be in the top armrest area. For me it started at about 10,000 miles.

Not sure if this is the same but when I rest my right arm on the center console (the cushy part) I hear a fairly loud plasticy creak if I put any weight on it at all. Not a big deal but surprising compared to how well the rest of the car is put together.

I have a sound when there is somthing on one of the cupholders and one of the little tabs that take up space are pushed down. if there is nothing in the holders the noise goes away. It is a creaky plastic sound as you have described.

Frustrating squeaks and rattles...
Speaking or annoying noises inside the vehicle, I've been to the dealer once for high ptich squeaks on the metal "U" shaped latches on the frame that secure the doors when closed.
A few days ago, there is this plastic sounding rattle coming from the left side of the vehicle, near the front door, as if the door panel has some loose bushing or plastic piece that is loose. The frustrating part is I can't locate it by myself and it;s getting louder. The rattle starts when accelerating from stop, rattling while going through uneven pavement, and rattle when I press the brake to stop.
I'll definitely get rid of this vehicle when I gain some equity, I might not buy an RX again due to this frustration. If I can't find a good alternative (high on the ground, with some utility, and 4WD) kind of vehicle, then I'll consider the next RX with totally new frame/body coming out in 2015.
What a crappy quality Lexus vehicle!
