give it a good walk around. a brand new car will feel like a brand new car. you may see remnants of the plastic they pulled off. it will have that heavy new car scent. check the odometer, it should have very light mileage. if you figure it's 40 miles to the dealership, it should not have more than 60 or so miles on it.

yeah i was told that it began with 4 miles and now has 60 because of the drive back which is about correct. now i am just concerned with getting a showroom model when promised a new vehicle off the lot. showroom models still have the new car smell too, no?

i think you might just be overthinking this just a bit. any of the demo models that i've taken out for drives don't really have that new car smell.

Tough call an no way of knowing for sure if it's new or demo. I didn't even let them take the plastic wrap off the inside of the car. My *** was the first to hit the leather.

All you can do is a thorough inspection. With the paper work wrong you always have an out.

is it normal that people asked the seat covers not to be removed until pickup?

I have a 450h on order right now that will be in port on the 15th and I will let them get the car right before I go get it and this one has just over 17k in options on it. And I am so ocd the it is CDO ,must be in the right order, but the dealership knows this and they do not want to get stuck with this high a price car on their lot. Only their best people will get near the car.

My Dealership would do anything I asked them, they are the best, I have never been treated so good. No it's not normal to leave the plastic on but I asked and they gave me no grief. ARROWHEAD LEXUS

Picked it up last night, brand new for sure! I compared the seats with another one on the showroom and there is.no comparison. After looking at the showroom model, I know how seats with traffic look like with all the wrinkles and creases and my car is not like that! Woohoo! Also the door panels are perfect and scratch free. Although I saw a swirl around the rear passenger door handle nut happy overall.

Did you ask them to remove the swirl or not going to risk it?

Glad that you are happy with your vehicle but I think you over worried about the situation. Both of my Lexus' happened to come off the showroom floor and it made no difference whatsoever. In fact my 2006 still has the new car smell. An advantage of a showroom car is that they are usually detailed a bit better for appearance sake and you can do a good inspection of it BEFORE you commit to buy it so you can see if there are any issues with it. Looking at a dusty car on the lot before prep often masks any surface imperfections that only become apparent once it is all cleaned up. Whatever makes you happy.

people are paranoid about different things. IMO, paint can be fixed with a good detailer, but the leather cracking/creases from people getting in and out cant,
