Brought my 10 RX350 to the dealer for the power trunk door. Just got a call from Dealer saying they could not find any information from the techadvise regarding this change...... Perhaps I will need to try it from another dealer.

Reading these posts I can't believe how many Lexus service departments don't know and are too lazy to find out how to set the trunk opening.Since it was available on generation 2 many customers are accustomed to the convenience. My service advisor always will look into (and finds solutions) to anything he doesn't know. Mine is set to open on one push on the flat part and lock the car on the round part.

Thank You for this one. After owning the RX as long as I have I am still learning things it can do. This is great to know as sometimes I don't want to wait for the door to open automatically, it is on the slow side. When hands are full waiting is not a problem. Makes me love my RX even more.

Thanks.

Just recently someone mentioned the zoom out-zoom in switch by the remote touch joy stick could be used for scrolling in any screen with a scroll bar. Handy.

I haven't read this whole thread but I just wanna say that when I press the trunk lift button inside the car, the one next to the gas cap button, nothing happens, so I think that was not programmed.

^You have to press the unlock button first for all doors, then it'll work.

The transmission must be in "PARK", otherwise nothing happens when you push that button.

Does that help?

Make sure that you also HOLD the button down for at least two seconds. Also please understand the button inside the car does not need to be reprogrammed. Only the button on the outside above the license plate needs to be reprogrammed.

For the inside trunk button to work don't you first have to do something in the glove compartment? I remember having to do that when mine was brand new.

If the tail gate doesn't work from inside, open the glove compartment and look for a button on the lower left. Press it once and then try opening it again. Someone must have disabled it.

Great. I should have mentioned to check the button after unlocking all the doors like happy said with the vehicle in park like BCR said. It could have easily been pressed accidentally when something was placed in there. Happened to me. Next you'll have to get the tail gate button programmed. That's for another day.

Default Re-programmed now button on FOB not working

I had the rear hatch re-programmed as described in this thread. I was pretty excited to have this feature.

But I noticed today that the button on the fob to activate the power hatch no longer works.

Is this what happens when you re-program the hatch? I was hoping that the fob would also activate the power hatch.

Comments?

The FOB should still work the hatch door. Make sure you hold the button down for 2-3 seconds.

I believe you now have to fully unlock the vehicle with the remote (press unlock twice) before you can open the rear hatch when the one touch open feature is configured. For this reason, and to avoid the possibility of the hatch hitting something when opened in confined spaces, I chose to stay with the default setting where the button on the hatch only unlocks it and you have to manually raise it.
