I took delivery of my 2010 rx450h last week and logged onto lexusdrivers.com for the first time today. I checked the service history and it says there was a dent removed from right front door on the day I picked up. I was not aware of that. Anyone know what's up? I checked the door panel meticulously and I really see no signs of damage. What are possible reasons? Is this legal?

Most likely the dent was made by either a customer or a salesman while on the dealer lot. The dealer then placed it in service to remove the dent and then placed back on the lot for sale.

The dent was recorded with the same date I picked up. The car has been on the lot since June.

I assume because the first entry of service is from June 12 followed by Nov 10 which is my pickup date...is 5 months really that long? Can it be a bogus claim to have Lexus reimburse them?

My thought is that while they were prepping you RX some one dinged the door. With todays technology they have the ability to remove a dent without having to re-paint etc. I think as long as no 'body work' was done and no painting, they don't have to report.
However I think they should have disclosed this to you.

I would politely bring that up with the GM or the owner of the company. I don't want to pay for 50 large a vehicle that has fixed.
Extended warranty would work for you. Just be POLITE and Professional.
NOTE: The delivery checklist will list that the car has NO body works. Fixing a dent is a body work.
Good luck

same thing happened to me, I bought a car and then days later logged online and checked the service history to see that my car was purchased from tacoma, washington with a build date of 4/10 and my dealer took the car in on 9/10. In my account, I found out that the car only had 11 miles and already had a check engine light, awd drive warning light, and a tpms light, which was serviced and fixed. This of course was never disclosed to me.
If I knew the car had these problems at 11 miles I would have chosen the other car that was also available.
The dealer tells me that I have nothing to worry about because it was a dead battery that set off the check engine light and the awd light and the tpms light. The dealer said they re-charged the battery, checked and reset all the codes, and everything checked out ok.
Would asking the dealer to extend the warranty be reasonable? What should I ask from the dealer as compensation?

I would agree that 5 month is a long time for a vehicle to sit and not being sold...
As far as the dent removal entry, I wouldn't worry too much about it..
They probably had the dent repaired during final inspection and recorded it together w/ the sale of vehicle..
Heck..on my service record, it was listed my dealer proformed wheel swap on 11/16 but in reality they performed the wheel swap on 10/28 (had them take off chrome wheel and put stock wheel back on)
I just assume they were a bit lazy and didn't submit the documents to Lexus until yesterday..

I also had a repair on my report:
"Dealer Reported 06/20/2010 -Sewell Lexus -5188-4085966 PAINTLESS DENT REPAIR"
It is a non issue for me. If it didn't need a repaint, it wasn't enough of a dent to begin with. I have looked a dozen times to find it on the door. It isn't visible to me. I even checked in direct sun light.
Get on and enjoy your car. Its much you do about nothing!

We would all be horrified if we knew how jacked up vehicles can get in transportation, being jockeyed around the lot, etc. If you can't see it don't worry about it. In my view a PDR (dent or ding removal) is NOT body work, it's part of the prep. Far more vehicles than you know have some sort of cosmetic touch up prior to sale.
