How many motors? Let me count the ways
Have had my RX 350 for almost a year, and I continue to marvel at the technology. As a thought exercise, I decide to count the number of electric motors, and I知 coming up with some astounding numbers. Tell me if I知 missing anything. Starting from the front:
2 for each headlight
1 for engine starter
2 for each outside rear-view mirror
1 (or 2?) for winshield wipers
4 for windows
8 for adjustment of front seats (4 each)
2 for front seat ventilation
1 for front fan
1 for rear fan
1 for moonroof
2 (at least) for CD changer
1 for rear hatch
1 for rear window wiper
That makes for 28 motors. I知 sure a higher-end one would have more. Is that accurate?

For those with heads up display there is a way to adjust where it projects onto the windshield, there should be a motor to change that orientation.
How about the power headlamp washers, are motors involved in extending or retracting them? And for spraying the water?
Are you also counting the washer motors for the front and rear wipers?

The number grows.
Yes, I believe motors run the winshield washer pumps - add two (assuming one front, one rear).
I assumed the door locks were solenoid-actuated, but they might be motors - add four more.
I don't have the HUD, power folding mirrors, or headlight washers, but those are additional motors.
While we're discussing different equipment...for the hybrid, how many drive motors are there? One for each axle, or one for each wheel?

Are we counting electric motor in the engine compartment? There are two fans on the radiator. Power steering? Power brakes? Air conditioning compressor? What about those cars with height adjustment?

The door locks are solenoid activated. The ventilated seats have 2 fans per seat, bottom and back. Fuel pump is electric plus the motor that engages the steering wheel lock.

One in the front and one in the rear. Do you have to subtract one from you count, the hybrid doesn't have a starter?
