ziggy, I'm surprised you haven't gotten the warning. Mine went off at 30.

how can the dealership not fill it up to the correct psi upon delivery? does that explain why my mileage has been horrible? around 22 mpg on first tank and 25 mpg on second...

My RX was delivered with 38 &39 lbs.
I usually bring a air pressure gauge and adjust the air myself. Most vehicles delivered have the wrong pressure and usually higher.
In your case with the monitor on dash,I would have checked.

I just checked mine this morning. All tires were at 29 on my digital gauge and on the TPS monitor. Since the sticker says 33 I drug out the compressor and moved them all up to 33.

so the number on the sticker refers to cold, undriven tires right?

I always check mine cold. When I took delivery, they were around 36. I took it down a little. Right now according to the monitor three out of four are at 34, the last at 33. I don't go by the monitor because it reads low by a pound for me. It's good for a quick check, that's it. I use the tire gauge instead to get the true reading. Plus the numbers inside have no sequence. You have to use the gauge anyway to figure out each tire's pressure.

you will get better mileage the more air you have in them.

Also, the TPMS does not actually have like a specific "level" as to when the light will come on. Instead, after you fill up your tires, you have to reset it with the button under the steering column. It measures a steep change in the PSI

RXSF, the warning came on after I lowered the pressure a little. I was trying to get all the tires to read the same on the monitor inside. Don't bother, it's impossible. Next thing I know the warning comes up at 30 PSI. As you can see, temperature was not an issue. It happened over the summer.

My 450h 19" tires had 31 psi each when I picked it up - it was built 8/10 but I took delivery on 11/18/10, so I'm sure the weather and elapsed time on the lot were factors. As for mileage, I avg'd 25 mpg on the initial tank, and am still working on the 2nd tank, but so far (knock wood) have been avg'g 30 mpg. I don't expect to see consistently good mileage #s until its broken-in or has 3k miles on it (my experience w/previous 2IS and 3GS).

so for on our first half of the tank it is 27.9 and hope to see it go up more as miles are placed on the car. Our RX was delivered with 38 &39 lbs also set them to 33.

Default Tire pressure in RX450H.

I'm really surprised at how many posts seem to imply no knowledge of correct tire pressure. Like any car we've all owned at one time or another, it's on either the drivers door or the area where it closes over. For the 19" tires it's 33. And you always set when tires are cold. Sorry, just surprising something this simple not known. Also, use the manual or better yet Google it. Oh we'll.
