Default iPod Scrolling - please check

Before I go crazy posting this everywhere, for those of us with "defective" iPod scrolling I believe it is fixed.

If you have that problem, go to your dealer or at least give them a call and ask about Technical Service Bulletin LSB-0039-09.

For some reason, I haven't been able to get into the TSB database to verify the number and content of this TSB.

HOWEVER, I had the work done yesterday and at least for me, iPod scrolling is fixed. The navigation firmware version changed from 350 to 35A and scrolling works as many of you have been enjoying for quite awhile and some of us have been denied.

Please, see what you find out and report back.

Thanks,

David, thanks for providing the TSB. I have an appointment with my dealer next Tuesday and will ask them to take care of it. I usually use smart playlists with my iPod but at least once this is fixed I can easily scroll to a particular song I want to hear.

Nice to know. I could not locate that exact TSB/LSB number, but am sure Lexus knows about it. Here are two links that are usefull for tracking down TSB/LSB/Recall, etc. information.

Good point. If they had an index like phone contacts that would help, but then you probably couldn't use it when the car is rolling.

Thanks,

They put 35A on my vehicle and the scrolling appears to be fixed.

Dealer performed the TSB today after a bit of confusion. Apparently it listed two VIN number ranges - before VIN XXX and after VIN XXX. Of course I fell somewhere in between. They did it, scrolling problem is gone. Big thank you to David!

The dealership in Wilmington,DE was no help and I sited the same firmware upgraded listed here. They "claimed" to have installed latest updates but not very convincing.

Is there a way to tell which firmware I have installed?

I have a 2010 LS460 AWD if it matters.

Thanks

Dave

Try the illustrated instructions here. They're for the 2010 RX, but maybe they'll work for your LS?

My dealer updated our RX 350 last week. Go to info/map data. Mine showed 8.0 before the fix and 8.1 after the fix. Scrolls properly now.

Thanks but the 460 has a different menu system. In an older model, I could hit display and the corner touches but that no longer works.

I found it - probably the same for all 2010 models. My NAVI version is 7350. I assume it should be 7355 or 7355a?

How to access hidden service menu:
power on
HOLD the info button
Lights on and off 3 times (while holding info)

Make sure you use ON and not the AUTO when turning the lights on and off.

After the update it is 35a. I believe the 7 is model specific.
