This is my 1st Lexus, and I found it odd to have the CC appended to the steering wheel as it is. I was used to CC being a set of buttons on the main part of the steering wheel. I can get used to this new location, but definitely prefer the style I had earlier on the main part of the steering wheel.

Jim,that's the first time I've seen a RX without the wood wheel and shift **** option.

DARN that toyota uses the same icon. will they ever learn!?

Im pretty sure the position has been there from the start of Lexus. Its typical toyota/lexus design. ive come to become accustomed to it, because as you are driving with CC, you can gently rest your hand on that 4/5 o clock position and use your fingers to accelerate/decelerate.

Has anyone on here ever driven a Benz? The cruise control stalk is literally where our turn signal position is. When I first got it, I was hitting the cruise control stalk at every turn!

I like the location, I just wish it didn't move with the wheel. Rather it stayed in the 4/5 position.

I kinda like it. When the steering wheel is cold I tend to grip it on each side on the vinyl. The wood is cold in the winter and a bit slick, but it is definitely better looking.

4/5 o'clock seems to be a Toyata corporate standard; I had it on my 2001 Highlander and a Corolla I rented a couple of months ago. And they all worked the same way. Logical to have the standard, from a design/manufacturing perspective.

I'm glad GoodRevs posted the picture because I was wondering if there was a difference. I have dynamic laser cruise control. Also, the icon is not very telltale.

Joeb, I don't have the wood steering wheel and shifter. Not an option with the sport package and I prefer it that way. Here is a picture of my black interior, same as yours

I have a woman friend who when I ask how come his engine light is on said she does not know. "It's been like that since I bought it!"

Anywho, just thought I'd throw that in here.
At first I find it odd too but you will get used to it. I dont even look anymore when I make adjustments.

We used to have a Pontiac Vibe (Matrix) in the family and the cc was the same as on the Lexus as well as on an Avalon.

I think it's pretty intuitive when you get familiar with it.

I have grown accustom to it. It is light years better than where Audi puts theirs. They have it on the stalk just under the turn signal. As a consequence you have to think what you are doing or you will hit the wrong one! I have accelerated many time when I was thinking I was just indicating that I was moving to the right lane!!
